#1 Photos: In order for the items pages to load quickly, it is important that file sizes for each photo be as small as possible. The best way to do this is by using thumbnail images (150 pixel width) that are less than 15k. Since these thumbnail photos will be reduced size duplicates of the master photo (600 pixel width), it is essential that the master photo file size be no larger than 120k; 70-90k would be more ideal if your camera has an optional lower resolution setting. Remember that a computer monitor can only display so much detail, and high resolution (i.e. large file sizes) photos are loading time, storage space and bandwidth consuming. Less is better in this case. Once you have edited your photos, store them in a designated folder or on a disk . Make sure you have saved them as either a .jpg or .jpeg file. It is also important to give them a file name that will indicate which item they represent; i.e. 1-01.jpg (for item #1 photo #1), 2-02.jpg (for item #2 photo #2), etc. To upload your photos directly to the Tripod website, click on the "CGPIX Upload" link above. This will put the photos in your "CGPIX Filemanager" folder at Tripod, and they will be immediately available for viewing on the internet. You can view your photo folder by clicking on the "CGPIX Filemanager" above. The resulting URLs for your photos will look like this: https://scottjane.tripod.com/CGPIX/1-01.jpg (for the master photo) and https://scottjane.tripod.com/CGPIX/1-01t.jpg (for the thumbnail photos). I will make the thumbnail duplicates for you. #2 Titles and Descriptions: If possible, use your Windows Wordpad to create your titles and descriptions. Don't format any font preference or tabs. Save them as .txt (plain text files), .doc (Wordpad document files) or .rtf (rich text files)in a designated folder or on a disk; preferably .txt files. Make sure you save the file with a name that either matches or is very similar to the photo file name so we know what goes with what (i.e. 1-01.txt goes with 1-01.jpg and 1-02.jpg. Send them as email attachments. When you email a title and a description, please indicate in the email subject line and in the email body the Item # so I will know where to place the text on the webpage. Something like this:
To:XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
